Pacific Surf School is a San Diego-based award-winning surf school and we are now present in Kauai. We offer Private Lessons, Semi-private Lessons, and Group Lessons so you can visit the paradise and learn how to surf or enhance your surfing skills.
Our local surf coaches are water safety, and first aid certified to provide you with the best time while being safe. We tailor your lesson to your needs and goals, whatever your skill level!
All the surf equipment is included in your surfing lesson experience (surfboard, wetsuit, rashguard & leash). If you are having advanced lessons we recommend bringing your own surfboard. Either way, we got you covered!

Kauai is a combination of amazing waves and one of the most beautiful sceneries on earth. The island is full of gentle, beginner friendly waves and advanced North Shore breaks that attracts even professional surfers.
Taking surf lessons in Kauai is one of the best experiences you can live in Hawaii, whether you are a beginner or an intermediate surfer.
All surf lessons are one and a half hours. The surfboard, wetsuit, leash and rash guard are included.
The lesson starts with a land lesson. The surfing instructor will explain about water safety, board dynamics and dimensions, what to do and not to do and your stand on the board. After that you will enter the water with your surfing instructor to try the real thing, he/she will help place the board in the correct position and give you pointers.
A private surf lesson is a one-on-one lesson, which means an instructor just for you and more wave time. If your goal is really learning to surf and making it a habit, this is the best option.
A semi-private surf lesson means one instructor for a small group of two to three people. This is a great option if you want to learn how to stand up, ride some waves and have some fun!
A group surf lesson is an instructor for four to five people ratio. You would be with a small group, which can make it a more fun experience!
When you arrive for your surf lesson a wetsuit will be provided to you. You can wear whatever you feel comfortable wearing when going to the beach: boardshort, swimsuit or bikini.
